This was my first time visiting the Holy Land; it was an awesome experience for all of us that went. We went as part of an annual pilgrimage through the Catholic Diocese of Knoxville in Tennessee. Being able to stand where Jesus was born, grew up, preached, performed miracles, died, and ascended into heaven is pretty heady stuff. But your head isn't the most important thing to bring to the Holy Land, it's definitely your heart. The scriptures have been opened to me in a new way since having been in all those places, seeing the terrain, and understanding the distances, the desert, etc.
