A semester-long project in the Just Type course at the SVA MFA Designer as Author program, we were asked to create music videos with two restrictions: they had to be black and white and they could made of type and nothing else. Rather than embrace the karaoke tendency and just spell out all of the lyrics on screen, I decided to tell a story. Every single character is constructed from letters and symbols found in the typefaces Helvetica Rounded, Porky's, Bauhaus 93, Futura and Engravers Initials.

I am currently at work on the "director's cut" which will incorporate all the elements I didn't have time or wasn't permitted to include (i.e. puppets, video and color).
