The deputies at the General Convention of the Episcopal Church will be facing several "big" issues when they gather at the beginning of July in Indianapolis. In this video, Devon gives a brief overview of the top 3 issues she sees facing the Convention and how each will impact the future of the wider Episcopal Church as it continues to evolve in the 21st century.
Devon is co-chair of Minnesota's deputation to General Convention. She has been a priest for 15 years and before coming to Trinity, Excelsior served four congregations -- two in Michigan (Christ Church, Detroit and St. Clare's, Ann Arbor) and two in Minnesota (St. John's, Minneapolis, and Epiphany, Plymouth).
From 2007-2011, Devon led community organizing projects across the country in Episcopal dioceses and congregations that built local leadership and raised resources for global mission projects around the world. In her capacity as Executive Director of Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation, she launched the Episcopal Organizing Institute that housed this work and was funded by the Trinity Grants program at Trinity Wall Street, and the Episcopal Church Foundation. Devon is also the chair of the Standing Committee of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota.
This video was filmed June 22 at the office of the Episcopal Church in Minnesota.
