awesome work , stop magic magician sylvain . those track shots must have been a bitch . how did you set the captures up ? did you use Dragon via macbook pro?
  • DUMAIS plus 2 years ago
Yep! We used Dragon + Macbook Pro and shoot with two cameras: 2 fixed and one on the rails. The rails works just fine.

man, I would LOVE 360* of dolly track... this is excellent. Especially love the art direction!
  • DUMAIS plus 2 years ago
    Hey Blake! Thanks!

It's true that 360* of dolly rail are a bit more handy/classy then a wheel chair ;-)
  •
  • Martín Candela 2 years ago
It's nice that the credits are as long as the short :D
  • DUMAIS plus 2 years ago
I know! Well, Michael, the guy who edited the credits, decided to use some of the making of footage... So, it gave me more time to edit the real making of!
  • Martín Candela 2 years ago
It's not just another stop motion, you made something new. It really looks good. The credits/making of is an example of innovation, it's not usual to see it in shorts :D
  • DUMAIS plus 2 years ago
Thanks! I'll pass on the good word to the rest of the team!

  • A Rigged Production plus 2 years ago
So let me get this straight, at the end of the day the message was, "We're a couple in it for the long haul" yeah? Technically speaking, this is fantastic, in another way, and I don't mean to offend nor disrespect the hard work and effort you've certainly put into this, but otherwise, I'm afraid to say I'm lost on what the point of it all was. Sorry *shrug*, still, a great production :).

The magic would have been the achievement of no choppiness which means painstaking frame alignment and smother transitions. For a short film the exact same statement and view point have been done dozens of times with far better execution, other than the dragon which is a nonsense. What was the point in breaking the fourth wall? The credits were great.
  • DUMAIS plus 2 years ago
Love to see some of your stuff buddy ;-) I'm taking good notes of all of the above.
  • Lightbulb Media 2 years ago
heh...I thought the dragon was awesome. Not sure what it meant, but I assumed it was the monster under the bed, no?
  • DUMAIS plus 2 years ago
Yep, it was a monster under the bed and also, the illustration of a French expression ''LE DÉMON DU MIDI'' ( noon demon ) which mean the midlife crisis.

What can I add that hasn't already been said? Beautiful and creative work. Bravo to the entire team.
  •
  • Justin Brown plus 2 years ago
Yeah im just gonna piggy back off what everyone has already said.. just excellent! Above all the magnificent effect work and tedious labor, sits a piece that is STORY DRIVEN!!! A lot of people try to just cram effect after effect in and think that will drive everything on its own. But here there's a story and THAT'S the main thing. Thats my favorite part. Everything else is just icing (really great icing!) on the cake. Great work.
