    Hi Berdt,

Nice shots. Appreciate the contrast between the "Olympics-music" and the stroling theatrics of the "dress-up". Another job well done!!!

Always enjoy watching your "samurai" staff ! It is amazing that in Japan they still are really in keeping old traditions ....

Very nice video for capturing the respect modern Japanese have for these traditions. What did you shoot this with? Hope you find time to take some video of the Kanda Matsuri this weekend. One of Japanese oldest and 3 greatest festivals--it happens only once every 2 years. Looking forward to more of these quality travelogues.

Chris, thanks for liking my video !!! I shot it with my JVC Everio HD3, like all the other films too.

Unfortunately, I am very busy this weekend. Just came home from Yokohama and have to work tomorrow too. We will see ... maybe, I can take some shots in the evening ... hopefully ... otherwise, I have to wait for the next big festival in Asakusa.

wow!!! I can only say that the subject matter is incredible the music is crazy (good crazy) and the video work is fantastic!. I have been viewing your projects since your first vimeo post and Noticed that you have grown into quite a workflow to get this professional looking footage. Can you share the work that took place after the shooting of this project. I imagine you stabalized it and did some color grading. But your final project has left me feeling really inspired. I cannot wait for my HD7 to get here. I hope that my pictures are as robust as your HD3. Congrats again on a job well done.

Thanks for the kind words, Frank !!! I always try to learn more and develope myself. Did you get your HD7 meanwhile ? If not, I would recommend saving some more money for buying a Panasonic Lumix GH1.
The HD3/HD7 and actually all other consumer cams have definetely limits, which make me also feel stucked at the moment a little bit. Biggest problem is the bad DOF but these cams are also very limited for shooting fast movements and situations in low light.
One year ago, the HD7/HD3 was probably the best choice, but since DSLRs are able to shoot HD movies, the possibilities of creativity developed tremendously.

BTW ... basically no stabilizer in this movie ;-))) I can really recommend using a tripod while shooting in HD wherever it is possible, getting much better results.

Warm regards from Tokyo and looking forward to your works !!!
