I was on my way to Tucson in hopes of capturing some lightning at the day was winding down, but as usually happens, I was turned aside by something better. An isolated thunderstorm that kept growing and growing, despite my skepticism, started becoming something that made me pull over.
There is nothing quite like a dying storm, with a spreading anvil, all at sunset. The colors were magnificent.
Note a little lightning strike just after the 11-12 second mark. A lucky catch!
Shot on the shoulder of Interstate 10 north of Casa Grande.
