The world of digital video is ever evolving and at a pace never before seen. Moderated by Robert Townsend VidCon hosts a panel of digital content creators from a diverse selection of backgrounds including Issa Rae (Creator: Awkward Black Girl), Tim Delaghetto, Al Thompson (Creator: Lenox Avenue), David Spates (LaughandPeepALittle) and AlphaCat. About Robert Townsend
A Hollywood-pioneer, Townsend, is often referred to as one of the "Godfathers" of the Independent Film World." Robert wrote, directed, produced and starred in his own first film the critically acclaimed "Hollywood Shuffle", a satire, depicting the trials and tribulations of Black Actors in Hollywood. Following the film’s success he was soon directing "Eddie Murphy Raw”, “The Five Heartbeats”, “The Meteor Man”, “Carmen: Hip Opera”, and the hit web series “Diary of a Single Mom”.
Townsend has made history by being nominated for over 30 NAACP Image Awards for film and television.
