Data and the ability to act on it is what makes a city more intelligent: the more we know the more we can manage. Some of the most valuable data today is gathered by citizens. Across the world, networks of individuals are mapping social and environmental phenomena that can assist cities in times of disaster, in law enforcement, personal safety and community building. This act of public crowdsourcing invites collaboration and creates shared resources that have the potential to benefit millions.
