Post Production - Week 73
This is a very big announcement... and it was a decision that was more than difficult for me to make. I don't know what else to say... :) except that I'm prepared to work harder than I've ever worked to make it all come together as planned.

You can do it!
And it's been paying off already - the days feel longer, more things get checked off my to-do list and I actually feel like I'm catching up!
Thanks for the support!
Good luck, Mike!
And speaking of monkeys - it's never too late ;)
but trust me, having all the time to work on something you have passion on doing, it is worth making the step back, so you can make a big jump foward.
luck, fabio
2) So you have no regrets
3) So that you can move on
Those are 3 heavy weight reasons I can think of for you to finish Pedal. You've lived with it for so long now. Go finish Pedal the only way you know how. You're a truly creative soul, & I admire that. The decision you've made is the type that every true artist must make from time to time. So go home focused, knowing that @ the end of all this, you'll have fulfilled one of your life goals & successfully closed a major chapter in your life. & you'll have a kick ass film. You got this Mike! YOU GOT IT!
I need to print your comment out and tape it the wall - I seriously got a huge smile on my face reading it.
And I'm incredibly flattered you think I'm a creative person <3
I mean it when I say we need to have a mini-reunion when I get back to LA :) go hang out of speeding cars or something fun like that. Take care of things while I'm away!
Seriously though, I hope it all comes together for you, I know you have put a lot of time and life into pedal. Oh and if you even end up down in Ohio hit me up.
At least you picked a good time to come back to Michigan. It could be the middle of winter...that would SUCK!
Ha, that's true - I did wait for the snow to go away ;)
"Because in the end it has almost nothing to do with the bike and everything to do with setting
out to accomplish something that is intimidating, that is unknown to you, something you know you
have a good chance of failing at but doing it anyways and slowly but surely proving yourself wrong."
Good luck with the the rough cut and especially your new junker getting you to Michigan.
Thank you for posting that quote... it's so crazy to read that... I had no idea when I wrote it that it would apply to so many different areas of production.
All your support means the world to me!
I know you can do it. You've already shown us what you're capable of and this to me seems just like the next step instead of something out of step. I believe in you and I am sure many of your friends and of course your family believe in you too.
I believe being out of LA is going to do you a world of good and you never know a light bulb of a new idea might spark to give you even more insight on what to do with Project Pedal and the infinite possibilities of what you can and will do with it.
I believe in you for sure :)
And I know that other people can do it all - they can juggle the job, the film, their personal life... and they can do so with ease. But I needed to simplify things.
It really means a lot to me to read those words "I believe in you" - you have no idea how helpful and encouraging they can be during all this.
*hug*
Everything changed after that. And forced me to grow as a filmmaker much faster than I ever thought I could.
I *could* be happy in NY (during the summers), maybe Austin I suppose. But I feel at home in LA... I guess I've never felt at home in MI the last 10 years of my life. I feel like I don't *belong* here...
I will see you two again soon! In the meantime I will be cheering Smashface on from Ypsi.
