FOSSIL v. BANSHEE | Envycode | Live At STEIM
7 months ago
Envycode is Kevin Patton, Ulrich Maiss, and Butch Rovan. This video is a duet with Patton playing a handmade sensor instrument called the Fossil and Rovan playing an analog handmade sensor instrument called the Banshee. Fossil, designed and built with Maria del Carmen Montoya, is a hand carved wood orb that can track motion as well as pressure and controls computer synthesis. Rovan is playing the Banshee, a handmade sensor instrument, by Rovan, that is controlling analog circuitry. This is played by biting on a small sensor near the top of the object as well as finger pressure.
