A wet boot top, soaked in warm water is pulled with significant force, over the last. The last has the insole tacked to the bottom of it. As the top is "lasted" a maker temporarily tacks the upper to the underside of the insole. Later after the newly formed boot is dry, the tacks will be removed and the tops will be sewn and pegged (with wooden pegs) to the insole. I hope you enjoy this demonstration of lasting a boot. J.
