no reason not to get it :) it rocks... i had the sony hdr-hc3 before the hv20 and the quality is so much better. 24p is fun to play with as well. just have to do a seperate pulldown if you don't have it in your editor already. a lot of handy manual settings on the hv20 as well. but can always put this thing on auto pilot and does a great job.

Awesome! Been a while since I last seen mudskippers.
Have always been envious of the quality from these handhelds. How much do they (HV20 / HV30) go for in Singapore?
  •
  • VideoCobra 2 years ago
Reasonable..HV30 goes for under $2k SGD

  • Wow...amazing video... i just bought an hv30 and im extremely excited to start filming, but how did you get the footage to look so good? ive read that there isnt much difference between the hv20 and the hv30.
    Thank you
    Juan

There isnt much difference or should i say there is not difference. Both cams produce equally the same quality.
    Awesome is the word!

these canons kick ass, best amateur consumer product to date! i still love my HV10.

Kick Ass indeed... HV10, HV20, HV30 awesome..Low Light much better for the 20 and 30 thats the only diff I can honestly add. If lighting is good all three cams RAWKS !!

    Ciao Cobra,
What settings did you use to obtain such a nice shot?

    Rec mode?
    shutter?

    Great footage VC !
What were the camera settings and editor export settings to get the image to look nice like that. I have the same cam, but have found recording footage and exporting it nicely can be hit and miss. I presume shutter and rec mode make a big difference.

    best wishes

Indeed it is important to get those both areas right to achive optimum results. With a little of playing around, i am sure you will eventually figure it out easy... And the settings no secret really... It was in i believe shutter priority mode with a little tweak on the EXPOSURE COMPENSATION...

    Hi Derek (aka VideoCobra),

NIce to finally meet a fellow Singaporean here.

I myself just bought a HV30 and ordered a Twoneil adapter.

Can't wait to explore the Twoneil adapters and play around with DOF shoots.

    Cheers and keep in touch
