Barbera King Tribute. Art on the Square
My mother, Barbera King, was an artist to many, a friend to most and a wonderful mother to my sister and I. In May 2008, at the hugely successful Art on the Square in our hometown of Belleville Illinois, she was one of the most successful vendors. She was a little factory, and I was in awe of all that she produced with her two hands in only a couple of months. On top of that, she made jewelry for every woman to afford and desire.
I shot this documentary footage just one year ago and only 9 months later, she succumbed to a 5-year battle with Cancer. She was a true artisan and a unique woman. An inspiration to my sister and I and this is a little peek into who she was and the lives she enriched through art. She will be missed.
