Hey ! Can you explain how you did that ?
  •
  • Andreas Soderberg plus 2 years ago

At the first look, I thought camera shakes were real. Looking at the top of the apple, I've got the feeling that the camera moves up and down.

    Great illusion !

Cool, is there a video somewhere of your time lapse??
  • Philipp 7pc 2 years ago
Not really. It's more like a time laaaapse. It took about an hour. People at the opera shouldn't see the change.

I think a ruby toned and rhine located children's film should feature a witch with such a beautiful respirating apple. it moved me to childhood.

  • Christian Chavez plus 2 years ago
    Wow that was amazing.
How did you get the apple to move like that?
  • Andreas Soderberg plus 2 years ago
Thanks! It is a timelapse that i play back and forth in time to get the breathing movement.

whats that effect called where the colors split off and cross?
  • Andreas Soderberg plus 2 years ago
Don´t remember how i did it this time but there is plugins that can do it for you. Or you separate the video in three layers, show only one color channel in each video, r-g-b. then use blending mode add and then move the layers individually. I hope that made sense. :)

  • salvage 2 years ago
very nice! ...but ... you should be inhaling while the apple contracts and exhaling while the apple expands!
  • Andreas Soderberg plus 2 years ago
thanks for your comment. I actually tried that but just thought it looked better this way for some reason.

How did you avoid the usual timelapse-flicker in this video? I have tried using Color Stabiliser in After Effects, but with limited success.
Even with my DSLR on fully manual and no external light entering my scene, I still experience subtle changes in exposure between each shot.
I thought maybe it was the slight changes in power to the lamps I have been using? Any solution to this would be brilliant, thanks!
  • Andreas Soderberg plus 1 year ago
i used a mix of echo and frameblending in after effects. It is also easier to smooth things out if you take more pictures than you need and blend them together when you speed the sequence up. Hope that helps.
  • OJ 1 year ago
Hey, I thought i'd give you a quick update on my recent success on this issue.
I stumbled upon an in-camera fix by slowing the shutter to about half a second or more, then closing down the iris to compensate.
Basically this is averaging the flicker from the light, rendering it nearly invisible.
Heres my first test of this new method. Footage is raw with no image stabilising, frameblending or colour correction.
    youtube.com/watch?v=9RRhI6xI7R0
    Success!

hey how did you dot that effect on the text (credits)?
  • Andreas Soderberg plus 1 year ago

And after that of course some wiggle.

  • Andreas Soderberg plus 9 months ago

  • Aaron 9 months ago
awesome. for how long were you taking pictures?
  • Andreas Soderberg plus 9 months ago
close to 2 weeks. Lots of chemicals in modern apples. :)

    was soll diese dämliche Wackelkamera?

    ugly, useless shaking "pictures"
    wasting time
  • Andreas Soderberg plus 9 months ago
thanks for your critique... i think you could have put it in a nicer way though. The idea behind the shaking camera is to add a forward time, a continuity. Without it the video feels like it is moving back and forth in time. Hope that makes sense.
