Using the methodologies and processes of both science and art, Nathalie translates scientific data related to meteorology, astronomy and oceanography into woven sculptures and musical scores. Using weather as a focal point, she explores the role aesthetics play in the translation and understanding of complex scientific systems while challenging our assumptions of what sort of visual vocabulary belongs in the realm of “science” versus “art”.
