Biomimetic Electrostatic Imaging (BEI) is the use of electric fields in salt-water environments to locate and track targets with a different conductivity from the background water. It is much faster and uses much less energy than SONAR. The concept was borrowed from weak-electric fish. Work performed as part of my PhD dissertation.
