Kamholtz's vision was to capture the creation of a painting from beginning to end. Using footage covering around 30 hours and equating to several weeks work we are granted access to his studio and are able to witness the process unfold before our eyes. We see the layers, the standing back from the canvas and fleeting, peripheral glimpses of domestic life. His show "Boats Like Feathers" which includes "Boxing to Catch", the painting featured, opens in a week's time July 18 at ArtHouse Gallery, 66 McLachlan Ave, Rushcutters Bay.
