Several volunteers spent a day in the dark and damp recesses of Butterwort Flume, also known as Hitchcock Gully attempting to relocate or rediscover the presence of Butterwort. Butterwort is a rare carnivorous plant only found in two places in New Hampshire. By the end of the day a vibrant, healthy community of this rare species was located and cataloged.
Special thanks to Jeff Lougee, David Govatski and John Gutowski for volunteering their time and expertise.
