This Architects Talk shed light on energy-efficient design on the scale of urban developments. The Swedish architect Stellan Fryxell and the German architect Joachim Eble, both of them trailblazers in the realm of sustainable urban development, talked about the integration and recycling of flows of water, waste and energy on the scale of an urban district. Fryxell elaborated on his design for Hammarby Sjöstad, Stockholm ’s largest urban development scheme, while Eble presented his plan for EVA Lanxmeer, an eco-friendly residential district in Culemborg. The two architects entered afterwards into a discussion, moderated by Arjan van Timmeren.
