On April 25, 2009, more than 120 illegal billboards were whitewashed and replaced with art as part of the New York Street Advertising Takeover, a demonstration against illegal billboards in NYC. I followed street artists I Am, Posterchild, and Teeth as they installed their work.

While I don't like graffiti in general, it's more the ugly spray-painted names and damage done to respectable buildings. However, art, particularly when it retakes public space stolen by advertisers, is something wonderful indeed.
