1. "A Piece For Eliot" RED ONE 35mm Film Trailer
2 years ago
'A Piece for Eliot' was shot with a Red in collaboration with Dorin Cernet as photographer. This teaser trailer showcases a variety of shots taken from some of Victoria’s most photogenic locations including the Bard and Banker, the Maritime Museum and the Mitbrodt Mansion. I would like to extend my thanks to the many individuals and businesses who have generously contributed to this project, and I look forward to any future collaboration. Please enjoy.

Sincerely,
Jordan Harbour

This trailer looks great; the set design, costumes and locations are terrific. Would love to see the before and after comparisons with raw RED footage and the colour-corrected version.

Hi Chris, thanks for the compliments. We had a great team on this one. I'm amazed at how hard everyone worked. I am considering putting up a raw version for comparison. it would be great to have some feedback before we color the final product.

Thanks for having a gander, Dan. I certainly respect and look up to all the work you've done, especially Lions Tigers Bears, and your latest music video with Justin Hewitt. It was gutsy and beautiful.

This is FANTASTIC! I love everything about it, especially the cinematography. Man do I ever wish that I could do work like that. Excellent job! Again, I can't wait for the final product to be completed!

Thanks a lot, Victoria. I'm really pleased with what the crew was able to accomplish. There's a lot of talent around town! ...and a few extra white hairs on my head.

Looks like you've got the makings of something really good! I especially liked the part where the man in the soldier's uniform reaches out for his musical instrument, then hesitates and grips the stock of his rifle instead. That part gives a lot of information to the viewer without the use of any words. The transition of focus between the instrument of art and the instrument of war was poignant.

wow this looks so beautiful. what lens did you use on the red, i'm very curious.
  • Karl Schoepp 2 years ago
I was gaffer on this film. To answer your question, we used various nikkor primes and zooms. A 50mm 1.4, a 105mm 1.8, and a tamron 24mm 2.5 were the lenses that were most popular.

Great work, beautiful colors and great blacks. What did you do your color correction in? I just finished a feature film and just released a trailer.

    On the RED of course.

Hey, I was gaffer on this film. Dorin used apple color to grade this film.

This is astounding footage, faultless. The cinematography perfectly evokes the era, Vittorio Storaro esque.

Quick Pointer; He would of been supplied with the gun at a later point, they never were given them before their tour of duty.

I just finished my first project on Red One... What a beautiful Camera! (Well I wasn't the DOP I was the Production Designer, but it was still awesome!)
