The Morning Commute
I decided to film my morning commute to work in HD with the ultimate intention of uploading here to test Vimeo's HD capabilities. Shot with a Sanyo Xacti I had on loan from work for the day.
Note that the video is under 5 minutes, and the only parts I sped up were when I stopped: waiting for a red light or to turn.

2) There is an ad message superimposed on your video that says "Brought to you by Canon."
Was Bill Couch's Sony camera story funded by Canon . . .?
3) Did you have both hands on the wheel?
2) That's only shown over HD videos (and only before playback) through the end of the year as Canon is offsetting the costs of hosting HD videos. See vimeo.com/blog:70
3) I had my left hand on the wheel while my right hand was balanced on the compartment between the two front seats to hold the camera up.
But really who says Web video has to be horizontal? Esp if it is video of newspaper page designs.

Now trying for blip
1280 is nice and I have been shooting 1280 wide doccies on four continents with my Leica-lensed point and shoot for 20 months now. But I always render it out to 480 wide for the vast audience who cannot stream 3kbps video files. (Which is still the majority of people online)
While it is nice to have a 1280 30FPS native cam, I would never go so far as to call my shots "HD video" - even though the output technically qualifies as "HD." Still a huge leap between a point and shoot and something like the slightly larger A1U that can shoot 1080i assets.
