Saturday July 14th - celebrating my 10th anniversary programming for the @Dourfestival, and what a celebration it was... We started the day with local hero Pomrad, who's fingers move faster than anything I've seen so far, going from one keyboard to another and tapping the drums on one hand and juggling with the samples on the other one. This man has a bright future if he master his talent. Next came Dimlite, a genius or almost from Switzerland, his sound is so unique - his music is just from another level, another planet, a mature kind of electronic modern spiritual jazz. Dam-Funk, brought the boogie from California back to the muddiest place in the country. After that came the man with the mask, Dooooom, Viktor Vaughn, King Geedorah, The Villain was here to tear the roof up and did it with ease dispite the bad sound quality in the beginning, his fans were incredible. From that point we left for the next level, starting with the bounce by Lunice, crunky beats, sometimes mellow but with that bass kicking in your stomach. To calm it a little bit down I put Dorian Concept right after, and as usual the prodigy on keys, microkorg gave us a terrific and beautiful show, melodic soundscapes, craziness on his little keyboard, this man is from another planet. The end was probably one of the craziest with Hudson Mohawke and Lunice, a very dangerous combo! I don't think there was anyone in the place (7000+) that didn't like what they brought. Darkness, bass, heavy horns, energy, I mean it is the whole thing that was just unbelievable. I can't wait to see them again... Thanks a lot Dour Festival for this beautiful edition, anniversary style, big up Alex and the whole team at the festival. Many thanks also to the whole camera team following me the whole day...
see you next year...
