More than 5,000 Marines from Marine Forces Reserve and I Marine Expeditionary Force
participated in the largest Marine Corps Reserve exercise of the year aboard the Marine
Corps Air Ground Combat Center July 1-12, 2012.
Exercise Javelin Thrust 2012, featured reserve Marines from 32 states around the country,
providing them valuable training opportunities including events with active duty Marines and
Canadian service members. The exercise challenged their skills across a spectrum of complex tactics, techniques and procedures leading up to a scenario-driven final exercise that replicated modern military operations.
