**I did not create this video** It was taken by two gentlemen from Easthampton in 1955 - Al Cartledge and we believe Bob Lamothe -- Tom Brown had Peter Brooks put this video together and asked that I load it here so it could be shared with anyone interested in seeing it.
A video of one of the worst natural disasters to hit Easthampton Massachusetts. The Flood of 1955 hit Easthampton in and around August 18,1955. This first 17 minutes includes video and photos from Al Cartledge and shows much of the damage done on Cottage Street and the back of what is now Riverside Industries and Ferry Street area. The next 20minutes or so is from what says Lamothe Productions (Bob Lamothe). It to is not only Cottage Street but other sections including Ferry Street, Hendrick Street and Liberty Street. The rain during that time also caused a mudslide that washed out a strip down the side of Mt. Tom towards Hendrick Street. I will add more details on the video as I can track down details.
