Probably the funniest president ever. i really like him.

He has gained the respect of the White House Correspondents, as has Robert Gibbs - try as they may, many of them have found themselves re-defining their old and new style of reporting - at least that's my perception. I've always been disenchanted with many of their 'spin-styles'. He will not only make history with his style of presidency, but he will also re-engage current social studies and government educators to look back further than Nixon and Kennedy, I do believe.

  • is the user really the white house? hehehe

it's refreshing to see a president not taking himself seriously 100% of the time. i enjoy seeing people as people and not as politicians.

All joking aside he said some very important things with regard to press, their responsibility, and their (positive) effect through accountability.

For the first time in my young adult life, I'm proud of my president and do believe he sincerely believes in and will defend the ideals of America and Liberty.

Oh, and that was pretty funny.

You said it exactly. People that scream puppet, or socialism, are missing the point..

As much as I liked him, re-opening Guantanamo and not releasing those pictures remind me of Bush...

Great speech. But this is for YOU TUBE surely.

Awesome. Daring! Truthful. And quite courageous. Surely some of the more narrow-headed americans are not going to like the analogy of his 72 day achievement with resting on the 73rd day ;) But hell, you gotta respect him for saying all of that - unique.

What I don't understand though - as a european - is the Hilary-Joke. What's their relationship like? Rather cold and distant?

Hiding proves of torture from the public eye like those Guantanamo photos isn't a sign of change, avoid prosecuting those CIA agents even if evidence has demonstrated that they are guilty isn't a sign of change, change your mind about importance of human rigths rather than military interests isn't a sign of change at all... I hope Obama's concept of change could CHANGE before this new goverment starts to seem more and more like the old administration.
  • Vasquez 2 years ago
    I agree.
  • Homer Samson 2 years ago
Vested interests don't de-vest, hence CHANGE. I don't know if I agree with people now saying 'The Democrats won, they should act like it.' The Progressive Caucus, which wants Universal health care, is holding firm for a government plan.. ..some Republicans should quit acting like losers though.

I don't necessarily agree with everything in it, but it does a good job at looking at the big picture as opposed to labeling one party, person, office or administration.

I agree with you on torture. Obama's stance on rendition is that it will still go on, but with assurances from host countries that there will not be torture. Unfortunately, that is a continuation of the Bush administration stance. Not torturing is a no-brainer. It is proven that intelligence from torture is unreliable and feeds violent cycles of retribution, whereas trust-building gives more and better intelligence. Politically, achieving a real anti-torture regime throughout the government and military will take real time and real effort, not just the election of an intelligent and compassionate man to the presidency by the largest majority in US history ...

Let's keep this creative. Vimeo isn't the appropriate channel for this kind of communication. Obama isn't lacking in communication opportunities, but this shouldn't be one of them. And not on my home page.
