People, some holding kids, gathered in a demonstration in front of the Diet building in Tokyo on July 13, 2012, to protest the recent restart of a reactor at the Oi nuclear power station in Fukui Prefecture.
The rally was part of a demonstration held every Friday evening in front of the nearby prime minister's official residence.
Fifteen weeks ago, there were only 300 of them. On July 13, according to police estimates, there were 10,000 people in Tokyo’s streets with a single, simple message for Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda: “Saikado Hantai” (We oppose restarts).
