Each year, Ross high school students and teachers have an opportunity to work together for three weeks between winter and spring terms, known as Winter Intersession, or 'M-Term.' These courses, which take place both on and off campus as well as overseas, allow for in-depth examination of a specific topic or exploration of a particular location's environment and culture, and often include service learning projects.
Following the conclusion of M-Term, the Ross School community has an opportunity to hear students and teachers discuss the courses they participated in. A reception in the Ross gallery showcases photographs, maps, paintings and other mementos. Documentary-style videos, dance performances & presentations on travel and dance courses are presented in the Court Theater. This year all but one trip (to the Southwest US), went to China, each with its own distinct focus and goals. Groups visited Beijing and Shanghai and saw some of the iconic sites of Chinese civilization including the Great Wall, Forbidden City and the Terra Cotta Warriors in Xi'an.
