Alive Medical Services has experienced phenomenal growth since December 2004, thanks to the leadership of medical director Dr. Pasquine Ogunsanya. Today, with Keep a Child Alive funding, the clinic has expanded its care to provide comprehensive HIV/AIDS treatment, prevention of mother-to-child transmission, volunteer counseling and testing, nutritional support and surrounding services to one of the most densely populated and poorest areas in Uganda. Since 2004, Dr. Ogunsanya has helped 5,148 HIV positive patients to full health with KCA funding. At the end of 2008, Alive Medical Services had 3,576 individuals on comprehensive HIV care, with 1,417 patients on AIDS treatment. On average, 320 people are voluntarily tested and counseled every month, and Alive takes another 100 new HIV patients into their care every month. KCA continues to fund nutritional support for 900 patients, as well as all laboratory services, opportunistic infection treatment, transport and general overall care to patients.
