Devin and Farid were married at what I believe is one of the top wedding venues in Vancouver: the Brock House.
It was awesome to see my best friend, Farid, get married to Devin. We’ve been friends for ages, so for me to attend and be a part of the wedding party and wedding video story, was an absolute honour. As a groomsman, I learned that not all weddings are stressful and that one good way of starting off right is by teeing off a few golf balls in the morning. It was a good way of calming any nerves before the ‘inevitable’ wedding storm. If I could give only one piece of wedding advice to couples (as well as myself), I would follow a formula like Devin and Farid’s. The day went by quickly: they enjoyed a ceremony outside in the sunshine and ended the night outdoors. From an insider’s point of view (ie. not being behind the camera for once!) I can say for certain that the best way of being documented is to be yourself at a wedding. Really. The story is that much more genuine and natural if that’s exactly how things play out. So if you have to break out a few tears, there’s certainly no harm in doing that. Just remember this on your wedding day: Drink, Eat and be Married!
And now, a personal note to my best friend Farid and his beautiful wife Devin,
As a groomsman, there was no greater honour than to spend the day with you.
We shared the morning as a group, the evening as a team. I have only one word to describe all of the laughter, tears, and dancing amongst family and friends: incredible.
You are both close to my heart and being so close made the experience that much more special.
Devin: you are gorgeous, intelligent, and charming. Farid: you are one of a kind. This is why I love you, buddy!
Let this be a warm thank you from me and a congratulations to you.
