It's amazing how big and heavy those things are. Nice vid.

There are soma amazing stills (e.g. @ 0:32) but the beginning, with its overblown sky, is less attractive.

Yup, it didn't come out right, plus the HV20 doesn't have enough dynamic range to deal with a black subject on such a sunny day.

I take it no camera has.
That scene must be impossible even for B&W still photography with Zone System, because of contrast range.

Pretty awesome footage... the blacks don't look too bad.... great job overall.

Nice but what puzzles me is the short, extremely blurry pans immediately following a sharp shot. Why is that?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru 6 months ago
    haha, that's artistic choice. :)

Isn't it 'shooting for the edit' keeping the camera running knowing you'll edit out the fast pans but sometimes they work ok so keep then in?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru 6 months ago
I don't understand what you mean. But, when I shot this video, the idea was not to have the fast pans. The editing idea came later.

What did you use MB for? Color correction right?
  • Eugenia Loli-Queru 6 months ago
Color grading. Color correction is a slightly different thing.

Love it. You've pulled out some really rich textures, I can almost taste the metal.
