jarrett - we do both, and then some. audio redundancy is huge when you want to use the for the narrative of your highlights and/or main features. we will often discreetly mic the speaker, have something coming out of the board, and a third mic, something like an iriver or zoom, picking up room sound all night as the final backup.

I've noticed your sound is also fantastic. I'm worried about losing the HQ sound I get from my DSR400 when I switch to a smaller HD camera like the HVX200 (sound isn't that great). Thinking about bringing it along just for sound...lol
