This slideshow highlights events in the life of Dan Davis, a legendary Pacific Northwest mountain climber. Dan made major contributions to developing the techniques that allowed major advances in the post-WWII climbing scene. He is credited with many first ascents including the first winter ascent of the North Peak of Mt Index in the Washington Cascades and the first ascent of the North Face of Mt Robson in the Canadian Rockies. Along with a group of his friends he climbed extensively in the western United States, Canada and Alaska before ranging further afield to Central and South America and Europe. Dan didn’t limit his pursuits just to climbing but enjoyed many other activities – especially if some ‘adrenalin’ was involved.
