The San Diego County Narcotics Task Force has broken up an outdoor marijuana growing operation in San Marcos. 22 Sheriff's Deputies work for the Narcotics Task Force. Watch a news story from NBC San Diego of the bust.

Sheriff's ASTREA located the grow during a flyover a week ago. The grow was in a canyon north of Ocean View Drive and about half a mile south of CalState San Marcos. Whoever was growing the plants was stealing water from a fire hydrant.

No arrests have been made in connection with the growing operation, but 3,756 marijuana plants worth $3.4 million dollars are off the streets of San Diego County.
