Just as the name of the song suggests, this track started as a single patch on my modular which I sampled, then tweaked, then resampled, then tweaked again. Then using the sampled instruments from the patch + the most tweaked version playing live on the modular, I reconstructed it in one pass using SevenUpLive on the Monome. At the end during the deconstruction, you can hear the modular, unsampled and live which is the most expressive of the sounds.
For you modular fanatics. Two modules that stood out in these patches were the Plague Bearer Filter from Flight of Harmony and QMMG from makenoise. The Plague Bearer
giving the key (tapping sound and plucking) and the QMMG for the Vactrol ring being plucked. Both contributing to the stutter effects(retriggering the cwejman ADSR-VC2) in the end which are 100% analog BTW. MOTU Volta did all the cv control through my audio interface without using a midi converter.
