Guys, this is one of very popular festival of Gujarat, one of the state of India, and this video was captured in Ahmedabad city!

This festival called as "Navaratri" means nine nights! People do pray for all nine nights and celebrate this festival by doing traditional dance; they wear some tradition dresses as well. The music and songs are also traditional! They do some very innovative step as well!

This traditional dance is very popular in Gujarat's all major cities, Ahmedabad is one of the city, and also popular in various cities of India, and every year more & more foreigners are visiting during this period of October, this video was shoot in October 2007!

Camcorder: JVC GZHD7, highly appreciate feedback & suggestions!

    Hi Kaushik,
Thanx a lot for inviting me to view your videos. I've seen some of them and they are all very nice. Its a strance connection though. I used to stay in ahmedabad and I just shifted out of there. Stranger still I think i was in this same place last Garba. Was this Karnavati club? I was in Ahd for only a short while, less than 2 years and usually came there on infrequent visits. I used to live close to the grand bhagawati. Near fun republic. Vikram nagar... Anyways I'll go through your work slowly. I havent uploaded my videos. I am new here thought I'd do it slowly. Any links with NID?

Another good video! However, I think shooting it from distant and elevation might help capture the dance better. Also, Raas might provide true action of Navaratri dance. Many of the scenes are taken from close-up distance which does not always clearly depict dance action. Thanks.

Thanks for your appreciation, this video was very difficult to capture, since you know that too much crowd and people are so curios, come and see what I am doing with camera! It was very difficult to concentrate, and I was not official to capture this video otherwise I would have placed myself in better place where I can shoot properly without any interruption!

I was standing at ground level and you better know that any time anybody will come in front of camera; this was toughest job to do! And I used zoom more because I wanted to reach them and in this crowd I was not able to reach them and while zooming someone comes in front of camera!

    Thanks for watching it.
