Short film about a gold digger from Weardale, Co Durham, England. Produced as part of a KIAC artists' residency in Dawson City funded by the Arts Council. The film is part of the Routes & Riches exhibition at Killhope; The North of England Lead Mining Museum 2009. The film features animation by Rachel Clarke of Twisted Digits using archive photography and records from Beamish and Dawson City Museum. The style was influenced by the wonderful animated and live action film, Long Tack Sam by Anne Marie Flemming featuring Global Mechanics beautifully animated sequences of old photographs (I didn't get the same effect as my style is a lot cruder!). The soundtrack was produced through a number of kind and wonderful collaborations with artists and musicians including Dave Barrett, Emma Boor and Steve Dales.
