'I come in character, I leave in character. No one really knows the real me.'

'Doctor Loco' by Anna Snowball (1989) and Matthew Kay (1988) dips it's toes into the life of a street performer from London's Southbank. Initially about how a street performer could be tempted away from his podium, this touching documentary explores deeper questions of success, failure and aspirations. The film was made as part of a 2 day filmmaking challenge, in which the Doc Next Lab participants were given two 6 hour days to run the entire life-cycle of a documentary, from conception to completion.

Produced by the British Film Institute in 2012 as part of the Doc Next Media Lab scheme.

This work is part of Doc Next Network media collection docnextnetwork.org
