Sonic Art Oxford, Jacqueline Du Pre Music Building 2009
A sound installation by Efthymios Chatzigiannis

This piece explores the behavior of Natural Resonant Frequencies contained in small vessels (such as glasses), originally inspired by the Helmholtz Resonators. The pitch of the resonant frequency depends on the size of the vessel in which it resonates. In this piece, the resonant frequency from the glasses with the microphones inside them reflects on the candle glasses hovering above them; the candle glasses act as physical extensions of the glasses with the microphones, acting together as one big resonator. As the distance between them is changing, it changes the pitch of the resulting feedback.
