Palmer Divide, Colorado

At 7:40 this morning, we heard a loud thump from our deck.
We knew right away that we had a bear on the deck and after grabbing the camera I saw that it was up on the railing going for the hummingbird feeder.
As you can see, I put the camera up on a vertical perspective, trying to get the bear, the hummingbird feeder, and the deck.
Just as the bear touched the feeder, I pounded on the window, but also took my eye off the camera.
The bear got down, went over the deck railing and got to the ground.
It then wandered off our property by walking on our retaining wall and going out to the road.
Brainstorming, we came up with an idea to take a long piece of wood, put roofing nails through it and then screw the board under the feeder.
We have not had a bear on the railing since.
