This streetcar, built by United Streetcar, LLC. (a division of Oregon Iron Works), is the first modern-design streetcar to be built in the United States. The vehicle was delivered by truck this morning, and unloaded onto the tracks at the Portland Streetcar maintenance facility. The design is based on streetcars built by Skoda in the Czech Republic, but updated to use parts from US suppliers and to meet the needs of US-based customers.
