... possibly my favorite concert given thusfar this year ; after a pair of patiently tested & meticulously planned multi-channel (quad) audio-visual art-gallery presentations in brisbane & sydney, i opted for a more "run & gun" approach to (stereo) hardware-based live electronic music one balmy winter night in the back room of a quite nice gastropub (craft taps & vegan desserts were both delicious & plentiful) replete with the ominous / effective video "eye" ; an analogue feedback loop triggered by the same set of control voltages (envelopes, essentially) as the correlative audio elements ...

this one delves deeper into a certain post-basic channel / chain reaction filtration-set than anything i've done thusfar (esp. the intro bit) ; yes, the root is still the "occlusion" patch-set, albeit embellished heavily in real time w/ oddly "functional" results (have never been more surprised at the initial bringing-up of channel-volumes since starting this whole hardware-synthesis experiment ; even after patching the synth unheard many other times) ... the crowd seemed to really enjoy it - hence the several encores, all presented here along w/ much witty banter & exposition fairly representative of my advanced state of complete & utter exhaustion ... some of the most linear music i've made in years happens towards the tail end of the 40 minute video ; attributable to a quite nice boutique small batch double ipa (whose name escapes me) - it's relative ease of acquisition, and a general sense of optimism & enthusiasm for some quite challenging music in the air ...

video shot via canon vixia hf-m50 (mounted atop the projector, FOH) ; audio a combination of direct-feed (via stereo d.i. box "thru" into a sony pcm-d50) - BOH stereo (via zoom h4next) & FOH stereo (via the built-in hf-m50 mics - hence the projector fan hiss during the "spoken" bits) ; there's a ton of drift, which, frankly, sounds great - i've left it in tact, syncing only maybe the last 5 minutes ...
