In Fire in the Belly two performers re-enact a motivational, ice-breaking exercise in an empty conference room. By extending the exercise to an absurd length, the suggested narrative shifts between comic, erotic, theatrical and violent. The film attempts to disallow its audience to relax into any single mode of experience.
