July 21st, 2012 - I set out to capture the 8 hour interval between dusk and dawn from the roof of the hotel in Edmonton where I work the graveyard shift.
With a bit of luck I was given a show of racing clouds that broke off at 12.30am to reveal the arcing of the stars and two powerful bursts of the Aurora Borealis. The incoming air traffic creates a series of streaking lights before the sunrise overexposes into the white light of day.
Music: 'The Great Gig in the Sky', from Pink Folyd's album, 'The Dark Side of the Moon'
