This is video screen capture of my first flash application I made. It is an interactive map I made in Flash in my Motion Graphics I class. The area of the map is the Blue Dome District in my hometown, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The goal of the project was to create something that would be practical and applicable to my local community. I saw that Google maps was extremely intuitive, flexible and all around useful. But, it didn't look very good, in my opinion. Therefore, I created a map that not more interactive but, interactive in a different way then that of Google maps. I also think it looks a bit more stylish too. I would like to take this project further once I grow my Adobe Flash skills. For instance I would like it so that when you click on a building the bubble stays. The address and web icon are hyper links to the businesses websites but, I can not figure out how to get the bubble to stay when clicked. I also think it would be neat to have the map move when ever the compass arrows are clicked. But, once again I have yet to find a sufficiant answer to this problem. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know.
