This project was made at the University of Granada for the subject "Creación Artística en Soporte Audiovisual", having the theme "Memory house", which should be explored in a creative and personal interpretation.
The animation is based on theories of the way humans acquire stimuli, organize them, tag them with emotions and save the result as memories.
The narrative can be broken into 3 sections:
- the first depicts the ephemeral and bipolar nature of the Senses, often seen as the source of happiness, since they're directly connected to emotions and pleasures (eating, drinking, having sex, swimming, partying, etc.);
- secondly, after it is revealed that the image on screen is made up of colored dots, representing the events in the retina, we enter the optical nerve and finally the Mind. Inside, selection, organization, mathematics and music represent the mind's processes. These then evolve into "aesthetic" creations, voluntary inventions that bring new feelings and experiences, showing how the mind itself has a great deal of emotional potential - happiness does also come from within.
- at last, a philosophical conclusion, more like a disclaimer, is depicted - you are watching a video, and a representation of that video and its creator inside the video itself. This is a stimulation of the viewer's consciousness, after all, imagination is the most powerful tool only when you can balance it with the awareness of reality.
