May 18, 1969. The dress rehearsal for the first moon landing mission, Apollo 10, is launched from Kennedy Space Center Pad 39B.

Apollo 10 was a final test of all aspects of the lunar landing mission (first successful on Apollo 11) with the exception of the landing, moonwalk, and lunar ascent.

With the success of Apollo 10 the way was cleared to attempt the first manned lunar landing mission two months later, in July, 1969.

This material is taken from our 2-DVD set on the Apollo 10 mission.
