david + grace's same day edit // cape may NJ
6 months ago
Due to crazy traffic + a monkey route detour (badddd GPS) we ended up arriving at the wedding location and meeting the couple at midnight before the day of the wedding.
However, immediately after meeting with Dave + Grace we checked out all the wedding locations, and quickly story-boarded everything based on the TIGHT-schedule.
Production Tidbits (keep in mind we had to pack light since it was a destination wedding)
- 5d Mark II was the main imaging workhorse (this camera is unbelievable)
- Cinevate Pegasus slider
- Steadicam Flyer
-everything was shot or converted to 24P
One thing that I'd like to mention is the short time frame we had in putting this together. ~8 hours, which is much less than we normally have. The wedding rehearsal itself occurred the morning of the wedding day which I felt made a fitting intro to start this piece.
EDIT:
For those very serious about education + training re production; please check out stillmotionexperience.com.

do you guys really do storyboarding as in drawing?
this clip is heavily MKII but everything is graded so that is more of the look than anything else, in terms of color.

Are you using a steadicam for some of those shots?
P.
my brother and I are also big fans of the MKII....a steadicam would be so liberating!! How's that deal working out?:)
check out our trailer here on vimeo too if you get a chance!
Thanks and again, amazing stuff!
Ben
Can I ask how you convert to 24p on the fly like that? You guys are such an inspiration.
Thanks, Matt

There were to cameras and 2 operators to film the entire processional itself.
The bride and groom preps were shot entire with available/natural lighting. No additional lights were used by us for any shots that are in the SDE.
