Mid-summer fly fishing on the Deschutes River.
Nymphing was productive during the heat of the day but as usual it was the evening caddis hatch that makes the hot summer days on the D so memorable. In Oregon you can only fish up to one hour after sunset. Armed with headlamps and our favorite low-riding caddis patterns we found eager and feisty trout until the canyon darkened and the fat lady sang.
Shot with the Panasonic GH2 w/ 14-140 zoom and 14mm pancake lens as well as the GoPro Hero 2.
Thanks Mike. One of these days I will learn to nymph half as well as you.
