This is a 45 mile round trip bike trail from my house in Redondo Beach up to Will Rogers State Beach up in the Pacific Palisades. This trail goes through Redondo Beach, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach, El Segundo, Marina Del Rey, Venice Beach, Santa Monica Beach, and Will Rogers State Beach. It's mostly a class I trail so it's separate from traffic but as you can see, there are a few Class II sections and some areas where I just prefer to stay on the street.
I did this ride on Saturday 5/16 in the afternoon. It was a pretty cloudy day so my Garmin 705 wasn't connecting to satellites very well but I did the ride in about 3.5 hours with a few short breaks here and there. It was a decent pace. It was also very crowded (as you can see) so I did have to slow down a lot for random pedestrians and had a few potential trip ups (usually someone crossing the bike path without looking).
I know it's not a competitive trail but at least I didn't really get dropped. There were these 2 guys that dropped me once early on but my competitive nature kicked in so I caught up to them in a few minutes and dropped them hard.
If you're interested in doing this ride with me, let me know! Bring your bike or borrow one of mine.
